Trevor Inch – William John Co Founder
Over the past 35 years Trevor has had a successful career both as a business owner and as an executive in the corporate world. He is particularly experienced in marketing.
Having spent his early career working for Heron Corporation in the automotive and petrol retailing sector, Trevor was the founder and Managing Director of an advertising and marketing agency and established the business as one of the top 200 agencies in the U.K., working with Blue Chip clients drawn from multiple sectors.
Post exiting the agency, he was Marketing and Distribution Director for Monarch Travel Group, the airline and holiday company, and responsible for all on and offline advertising and marketing activity for their Tour Operation brands. During his time there, his key achievements included initiating and delivering their new web channel and playing a key role in executing Monarch’s brand consolidation in the B2C market.
Over the past 10 years he has co founded a specialist sports operation which he structured and successfully completed a fund raise for the group’s sports investment vehicle and, more recently, has provided consultative advice to a number of companies within the financial sector and private equity market.
In 2017, he co – founded William John with Rob Holgate and jointly they have created the platform and strategy relating to the firm’s trading presence within Capital Markets.
Rob Holgate – William John Co Founder
Rob has spent over 30 years in Financial Services both as an entrepreneur, and Chief Executive/Owner. He spent several years specifically focused on EIS investment during which time he was responsible for raising over £30m for a number of EIS approved companies. Rob grew his previous company over a 15 year period from a sub £1m turnover to in excess of £60m with 45,000 clients and 150 staff before selling in 2007.
More recently Rob has been involved in several SEIS fund raisings in particular taking an SEIS company from inception to listing on a recognised market. Rob has raised seed capital for one company in particular where at the end of the SEIS qualification period investors were offered an exit equating to a 15 times return on their net investment.
Rob has hands on experience at all levels and notably designed and wrote the back-office settlement systems and regulatory interface at his previous company, a system that saw the company through its major expansion phase.
Rob’s experience covers both the client and corporate side of business and he therefore understands how to look after the needs of both. He is an experienced trader in his own right and specialises in working closely with business owners to find funding solutions.
More recently in March 2017 Rob co-founded William John with Trevor Inch to further develop successful trading strategies within the capital markets.
Sue Cole – Head of Compliance and Internal Audit
Sue is a compliance and regulatory professional with decades of hands on industry experience. She started her career with Hayes Parsons in Bristol, a life and pension broker. In 1987 Hayes Parsons was taken over by Grahame H Wills which itself was bought out in 1995 and Sue continued her employment with them until 2007 latterly as head of compliance and money laundering.
Sue qualified in regulation and compliance with the Securities Institute and until 2013 was a chartered fellow of the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment.
Sue has dealt with all aspects of investments and has held control functions registered with the FSA (now FCA). She has also been responsible for preparing monthly management accounts and returns for regulatory purposes.
Whilst at Grahame H Wills Sue was responsible for setting and amending all internal regulatory procedures and maintaining and updating compliance procedures.
As Head of Compliance and Internal Audit at William John Sue reports directly to the board.
Assisting the organisation in accomplishing its objectives by bringing a systematic, disciplined approach to evaluate and improve the effectiveness of risk management, control and governance processes.
